My 2013 Reading List!
It's all about the Fantasy for the start of 2013. The books I enjoyed most in 2012 were of the Fantasy persuasion so I'm gonna keep going along those lines until I get sick of it! I will also be throwing in some Paranormal...so anything otherwordly is what I've got my eye on! Also, mega long books and series are always good to start the year with so there's a few of those too!
Lord of the Rings
I conquered The Hobbit this year so why not pull out the big guns next year and go for the trilogy?!
A Song of Ice and Fire
I need to read this, if not only for the simple reason that my married friends love it and I know it's only a matter of time before spoilers are blurted out in my presence. I HATE SPOILERS. Plus, Game of Thrones is awesome.
The Mortal Instruments
The film is coming out fairly soon, and I have wanted to read these for ages anyway so it's a good excuse to have a crack at them. I have been informed that it is, 'like Twilight but good' so we'll see!
The Infernal Devices
I really like the look of these and I am hoping I will be so enamored by Mortal Instruments that I will pick up the prequels too.
Night Angel
Brent Weeks is an author I have had my eye on for ages, and I feel that this year it is time to stop deliberating and start reading. This is the one I always eye up at my library so I'll start with it!
Iron Fey
I loved The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa, so would really love to try her Iron Fey series, novellas and all!
Graceling Realm
Again, I have wanted to read these or ages but never seem to find the time! THIS YEAR IS THE YEAR.
Curse Workers
I love these covers- so pretttty! I love the sound of this quirky series and really must find time for it this year!
There are so many more books I want to read in 2013. I am setting my reading challenge at just 50 books this year as I just don't have time to read now that I am fully retired from University and work full-time at a school library- I love it but I only really get time to read on the bus and in my lunch break. I hope I can get my teeth into all of these series this year and love all of them!

I also want to read Game of Thrones! But those books are HUUUGE. The mortal instruments are pretty good, I'm reading the third book at the moment. I really like the Iron Fey books! They read so fast and Grimalkin is an awesome character. Oh, I also need to read the Graceling series! Thanks for reminding me. Good luck and happy reading :D

I liked the Mortal Instruments, but LOVED The Infernal Devices. I would still start off with The Mortal Instruments, but after the first 3 read the Infernal Devices, and then finish up with the next 3 Mortal Instruments. It is kind of a weird way to read it, but makes sense based on when the books were actually written.
ReplyDeleteYes! White Cat! I've been meaning to try Iron Fey for ages. The writer lives in the next big city over.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I loooooooooove the look of your blog.
ReplyDeleteLord of the Rings is also on my list of books to read in 2013. I like the look of the Curse Workers series, I may have to look into that one.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get all your books read :-)
