Description
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Every week a different topic comes up and bloggers list their top ten books in that category.
I love a good list...I've always said that. That's practically my catchphrase.
Top Ten Books on my Autumn 'To Be Read' List!
10.
Title: The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making
Author: Catherynne M. Valente
I recently received a review copy of the second book in the series, so I really need to get up to date and read The Girl Who... first! Plus I adore the title and the cover. They are pleasing to me.
9.
Title: In the Shadow of the Banyan
Author: Vaddey Ratner
The last 10 books I have read have been YA so I think I am long overdue for some adult fiction, and this looks beautiful and sad which is right up my street.
8.
Title: Throne of Glass
Author: Sarah J. Mass
I got this on my Kindle the other day because I was reading so many rave reviews! It sounds fantastical and awesome so I will definitely be picking it up this month.
7.
Title: The Time Keeper
Author: Mitch Albom
Hmm I am so torn over this book. On one hand, the cover is beautiful and the plot sounds really intriguing. On the other hand, I absolutely hated 'Five People You Meet in Heaven', by the same author. when I read it as a teenager. Sentimental crap...is how I remember describing it. So we'll see how this one goes!
6.
Title: The Shadow Society
Author: Marie Rutkoski
One of the review copies I will be reading in Autumn- this looks mysterious and action packed which is nice to have after a couple of really serious reads!
5.
Title: Crank
Author: Ellen Hopkins
Why I Loved It: This is a novel in verse which realllllly intrigues me! I love unusual formats in books and something a bit quirky, so I'm hoping this doesn't disappoint! Priscilla from The Readables is also reading it this month, so it will be interesting to compare opinions!
4.
Title: The Night Circus
Author: Erin Morgenstern
I have no idea how I haven't read this yet but it remains with spine unbroken on my shelf. THIS MONTH WILL BE THE MONTH I GET TO IT. I'm sure of it....
3.
Title: The Marlowe Papers
Author: Ros Barber
I was perusing my local Waterstones the other day and I happened upon this gorgeous book that I just insta-loved. It is cloth-bound, the apple is in gold and it is just so pretty! Again, it is in verse, and it is a re-imagining of the playwright Christopher Marlowe's life. Sounds so good!
2.
Title: Daughter of Smoke and Bone
Author: Laini Taylor
Again, I realllly want to read this, I just never seem to find time! I hope this month I can't keep my hands off it.
1.
Title: The Casual Vacancy
Author: J.K Rowling
Of course I am going to be reading this. From cover to cover without stopping. Personally, I think it sounds brilliant and I love the cover! FINGERS CROSSED. EVERYTHING CROSSED.
I wonder how many of these I'll actually read! I have no discipline.

Funny how many people are just now getting around to Night Circus, including me!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Top Ten Books I'm Awaiting This Fall. I hope you will stop by!
You have so many on your list that I'm excited about or love! The Night Circus is one of my favorites. I hope you love it too.
ReplyDeleteIn the Shadow of the Banyan sounds breathtaking, I hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteThe new Mitch Albom book also sounds good. Have you read Tuesdays with Morrie? I never bothered with Five People you meet in Heaven, but Morrie was a wonderful book.
Throne of Glass was really good! Nice selection, some titles I haven't seen before but will be checking them out. I really need to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone someday, had it forever just waiting to be read!
ReplyDeleteQuite a list, other than Night Circus and J.K. Rowlings, I'm not too familiar with any of them.
ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot to add J. K. Rowling's book to my list! I'm definitely intrigued to see what it will be like. I should probably get myself in the library queue for it!
ReplyDeleteSentimental crap, indeed. I was not a fan of "Five People You Meet in Heaven" either. Hopefully "The Timekeepers" is better! And I'm so glad you're planning to read "The Night Circus." It's truly magical. :) Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteSo I am set to start DoSaB next once I finish my current audiobook. But I started the audiobook for The Night Circus and just didn't get into it. I think I need to give it another try because I've heard AMAZING things! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I have yet to finish The Night Circus for some reason. Some unique reads here! Hope you enjoy them all! :)
ReplyDeleteHere's My Top Ten
I just checked out Throne of Glass today. A teen at the library where I work has raved about that one.
ReplyDeleteI am super excited about The Casual Vacancy, too! I think it will be well written, but certainly not HP. But that is okay.
Cool list. I love the smoke and bone cover.
ReplyDeleteGreat List!! The Crank series was great, I LOVED them! Casual Vacancy made My TTT too!!
ReplyDeleteThrone of Glass and A Casual Vacancy are 2 I would love to read too. Hope you get to all of these during the Fall :-)
ReplyDeleteI had no idea Mitch Albom had written another book. I will have to check it out!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your fall reads. :)
